Not a good tool
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The cutting part works fine. The barb insertion is another story. Using Shimano branded hoses this thing isn't able to hold onto the hose without the tool pushing the hose back. In every use I had to wrap the hydraulic hose in electrical tape to keep it from being pushed back. I had much better, less frustrating results by using a tool that holds the hose like a vice - that a screw tightening mechanism.

Cannot recommend
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I cannot recommend this tool. I used it for a home bike build. The tip of blade bent after 2nd cut and clamp does not grip the hose tight enough to insert barbs.
