Topeak Ratchet Rocket Lite DX +
The last thing any of us crave on a ride is a mechanical issue — there are few things that bring out our frustrations faster than fidgeting with an awkward multitool in tight places, where we're unable to get enough leverage to loosen a bolt. Topeak offered an answer to our frustrations with the Ratchet Rocket Lite DX, and this year we see some welcomed improvements to the model, with the Ratchet Rocket Lite DX+. The DX+ features much of the same tech as last year, like a chrome vanadium steel ratchet wrench with fine-tooth ratcheting, a thumb wheel for quick rotation, and a reverse lever for backing out and dialing in bolts, as well as an assortment of hex and Torx bits, but with a couple of improvements. For example, the screwdriver bit from last year now features a chain tool that mounts neatly on top for quick chain repairs trailside, and the bit holder from last year has now been magnetized to make storage faster, easier and safer. Just like last year, the DX+ includes two polymer tire levers, and a sturdy nylon case that easily folds up into a petite package that can be tossed in your hydration pack or back pocket.

A must have!

- I've put it through the wringer
I carry this instead of my crankbros multi 19 (a great tool as well if you prefer everything in one place). I prefer the ratcheting feel (probably because my inner DIY car mechanic) of this took kit more than the standard fold out multitool. It has saved me on many rides both road and mountain. The whole kit doesn't weight much and has an extra slot in the pouch for my Rockshox rebound adjustment allen key. I would recommend this to anyone who carries a medium sized bike pouch.
