Why We Built The Backcountry Slickrock 9in Bike Short
"When temps are high, these are my go-to shorts. I love how light and stretchy the fabric is." —Gearhead® Expert Jo
Drawing inspiration from the miles of sandstone trail right in our backyard, our Backcountry Slickrock 9in Bike Shorts are built for hot weather rides that demand maximum mobility. The lightweight, 4-way stretch fabric helps wick away moisture to keep us dry on our all-day singletrack adventures, and laser cut ventilation along the inner thigh gives us some extra airflow when the pace and the temps start to climb.

lightweight

These are the lightest and most comfortable pair of mountain bike shorts I have ever owned. Will be buying them in other colors. Sizing was perfect

Ride Up
- Familiarity:

These are cute shorts and fit well. But when riding, they ride up your leg and bunch up. So not comfortable. I hate to send them back, but I can't ride with shorts like this.

Runs Small
The Small feels like an XS. Definity size up in this size, but the material isn't as nice as the 11" version, there isn't as much strech/give to the fabric when moving your legs around. Will be returning.

These are great shorts I love them!

I love these shorts. They are the best of the summer! I love the colors - I get compliments on all of them. Yes I said "all of them" because I have bought three pairs, and now plan to go buy the other two I didn't buy yet. I love the pockets, my phone and small wallet and keys fit! And when they are zipped, the shorts look sleek. I mostly wear these shorts for Pickleball, and I also ride Mountain Bike, hike, boat, kayak. These are great for all activities. I read another review of someone that matches my size and she found they didn't fit her. I bought size L (I'm 5-10 and weigh roughly 165). yes they are tight around the waist but hey I need to drop a couple of pounds and it doesn't impact the comfort. I was hesitant at first because of the little bumps they put in the back but I've not even noticed them.

Wanted to love them
- Familiarity:

I loved the green color. I am usually a large in most pants but based on reviews I ordered the XL. I was able to get them on, but talk about camel toe! There is so much extra fabric in the crotch area! Like, maybe more for a man? So I went out on a limb and ordered the L. I could barely get it over my butt, and once I attempted to button them, no way! There is no stretch to these at all. Bummed but I had to send both of them back. Will have to try a different brand!

Oddly Big in the Legs

I really wanted to like these based on the other reviews. I'm 5'9'' and 165 pounds. I normally go between a size M and L, but based on the previous reviews I went with a L. They fit great around the waist, and were snug but not tight, but the legs were huge! I don't have big hips, and it's almost as if these were built for people for much bigger hips and quads (women specific things tend to have this hip room, I know), but the leg room was excessive. It felt like the waist was a M and the legs were an XL. It might just be the fit for me and my body, but if you have a slender build, beware! They did seem like really quality shorts though!

Love the Fabric!

I bought these shorts on four colors, just on a whim, and I’m glad I did! They wear really well all day on a bike. Love the stretch fabric and the cut; even the high waist is comfortable, and the 9 inch length is just right. The legs stay in place and don’t hike way up as I pedal. I appreciate the well-placed series of vent hikes too. So happy with these shorts I wear them off the bike too!

Yuhuuu!
Great pants, they run a little bit tight, but the breeze is good!

Curve Fit Friendly
- Familiarity:

I am so stoked on these shorts. I have had the hardest time find a pair of mtn bike shorts that fit me comfortably. I am a big skier and biker and due to that my thighs and butt are larger compared to my waist. Knowing my waist is usually a small and my hips are usually a medium (Waist - 27", Hips/Butt - 41"). I went with the medium since I could synch the waist and they fit so well! They aren't skin tight on my thighs and there is no gap on my waist. Thank you thank you for making a product that fits the muscles we build doing these sports!

Tad small
I love these shorts and the fun colors, I think they run a bit small. I am typically a size 4 or 17 jeans, and always a small in bike shorts, but the small is just too snug on me. Size up.
