Why We Like The Cervelo Aspero Apex AXS Exclusive Gravel Bike

Whether we are racing or just out for a casual ride, the Cervelo Aspero Apex AXS Exclusive Gravel Bike is one of our top choices to get us where we are going. Road bike efficiency meets off-road capability thanks to the Aspero's race-bred geometry and its ability to run 40mm wide tires. A moderate 72-degree head tube angle gives us confidence in all sorts of terrain while still keeping our front wheel underneath us for maximum speed and efficiency, while the steep seat tube angle puts us in a super-efficient pedaling position to conquer technical climbs. With the ability to run 700c or 650b tires, the Aspero is super versatile, and with that comes a Trail Mixer adjustment in the fork to compensate between the different tire sizes to keep our trail figures the same for consistent handling. Wrapping it all up, the Aspero features a full carbon frame built to Cervelo's legendary qualifications, neat internal cable routing, and the ability to run two water bottle mounts.

The Apex AXS Exclusive build of the Cervelo Aspero is expertly pieced together to give us the best balance of performance, value, and reliability. Featuring a full SRAM Apex build, this ride boasts premium AXS electronic shifting for some of the smoothest and most reliable gearing out there. The 12-speed, 1X drivetrain gives us tons of top range for going all out when the race is on the line, and the Apex brakes ensure we have complete control as we rail through the final twists and turns to the finish line. Premium Maxxis Rambler 40mm tires offer tons of grip and traction for getting rowdy, while the FSA AGX i25 wheels give us confidence blasting through rough and rocky sections of trail.

Outstanding value

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:

Excellent value, so well assembled and so safely shipped. In 8 online purchases of built bikes over the years (from others), Competetive Cyclist has been the best and most satisfying experience yet. I did not need a gearhead, but I appreciated their contact, letting me know about the build up and delivery. I was concerned that the Aspero might be too much bike for me, as there is a lot of “Race” hype about the bike, but I find it to be very comfortable, and confident to handle at all speeds and conditions, from road to some single track when necessary. I appreciate the simplicity and focus of the design. Even if you’re not fast, it feels fast. The Apex AXS works great, except when changing the rear wheel, as there is no SRAM cage lock at this component level. I wish there was! At this price point, there is some room to upgrade over time, which I may consider to lighten up the bike. Overall, I am very happy with the bike, the value and the purchase experience.
