Why We Like The Ibis HD6 GX Eagle AXS Transmission Carbon Wheel Mountain Bike

When we are itching to shred the bike park but the lifts have yet to open up from the winter, we whip out the Ibis HD6 and get after it. The HD6 is Ibis's longest travel bike and is a bred race machine designed for tackling the steepest descents while maintaining the capability to pedal back to the top and do it all over again. The HD6 is a big step up from its older sibling, the HD5, or Ibis's previous enduro race bike, the Ripmo. Sporting 165mm of DW-Link suspension and a mixed wheel setup, the HD6 was made to rocket down black diamond trails, climb like a trail bike, and give us a plush yet supportive ride. A 64-degree headtube angle gives us maximum stability when descending, and the size-specific seat tube angles give us an efficient position when climbing for every frame size. Quick and agile 435mm chainstay promotes tight rear wheel turning and the ability to pop off the ground more freely. The HD6 is equipped with a progressive leverage ratio and a coil-compatible shock, integrated chainstay and downtube protectors for frame protection, and a shuttle guard so we can drive to the trailhead worry-free.

The GX Eagle Transmission AXS Carbon Wheel Build of the Ibis HD6 has electronic shifting, quality components, and upgraded carbon wheels. Weighing in at just over 7.5 pounds for the frame with the rear shock, the HD6's frame is made with premium carbon fiber to give us a super lightweight, stiff, and bombproof frame designed for taking on the chunkiest of descents at race speed. Next, SRAM's GX Transmission AXS drivetrain gives us precise electronic shifting, smooth and reliable shifting under load, and a durable design. Ibis's S35 carbon hoops and Industry Nine Hydra hubs take this ride to the next level by stiffening up our handling, dropping the weight, and giving us some of the best engagement in the game for putting power to the pedals. The Fox Factory suspension supports us, giving us premium performance with a Factory 38, 180mm fork up front to eat square-edged hits and rock gardens for breakfast. In the rear, a Factory Float X2 rear shock is super-tunable and gives us relentless traction and small bump sensitivity. Finally, SRAM Code RSC 4-piston brakes keep us under control on steep descents and give us adjustments to tune our lever reach and contact point for the best performance.

*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
