Tale of Three Remotes

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Quick Backstory...last year I was diagnosed with the onset of arthritis in my left thumb (bummer). I needed to modify how I did somethings, this included my dropper remote. On a long ride pushing it would become painful! Late last year I started doing some research on better, smother remote options. Fast-forward to recently...with the onset of the MTB season, I purchased a remote that boasted a "light action" manufactured by (who will not be named here). I tried to find a position on my handlebar that would allow the remote to actuate properly BUT I couldn't find a spot that didn't interfere with the break leaver. So back to the internet and more research. I found another remote manufactured by (who will not be named here) that had a redesigned "enlarged thumb pad." So I traded in the first one for this new one. I was able to find a perfect position to mount the remote BUT the tip of my thumb would catch on the the enlarged pad every time!?! So once again back to the internet and I spotted the OneUp Remote V3. Now last year when I first looked into a replacement remote I looked at the OneUp Remote V2. So I hadn't given a second thought to it until I realized it was an updated design. Reading through the description I spotted the "Lighter Action Design" boasting a ”27% less effort.” So I traded in the last remote for the OneUp and, just like in the tale of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," THIS ONE WAS JUST RIGHT! I paired it with a Jagwire Pro Dropper Cable and Housing and I have to say sometimes I don't even know I'm pushing on the remote! In fact I'm having to retrain my mussel memory as I find myself pushing too hard and to fast. This set up requires a "light" touch. I would more than recommend this remote!
