All-road comfort.

Pinarello's entry in the all-road endurance party is a good one. Its Gan GR-S Disk Ultegra Complete Road Bike gets powerful disc brakes, stiff and secure thru-axles front and rear, and a proprietary suspension system that takes the edge off pavé, chip-seal, and light gravel. The Gan GR-S manages to blend exceptional comfort, beautiful Pinarello aesthetics, and a sporty ride to go from your doorstep to that stretch of rural county road that you'll have all to yourself. The build comes complete with Shimano's precise and reliable Ultegra drivetrain and hydraulic brakes that rolls on Fulcrum Racing wheels wrapped in Vittoria's Terrano tires, letting this bike go where most purebred road bikes can't.

At a glance, the Gan Disc features similar eye-catching styling as the top-tier Dogma KS-8, the bike Team Sky uses at Paris-Roubaix, with its signature curves and unique elastomer suspension system. This suspension, dubbed the Dogma Suspension System 1.0, sits at the seatstay junction and works in unison with its Flexstays technology. Flexstays are essentially flat and wide seatstay and chainstay sections designed to allow a high absorption of vibrations in the vertical plane while maintaining torsional stiffness. The system provides up to 10mm of plush cushion to smooth out bumpy roads and cobbles without sapping any energy. Pinarello is understandably secretive about the final composition of the elastomer, but it claims that this system effectively dampens vibrations without experiencing excessive movement when riders dump watts into the pedals.

The most notable difference between the Gan GR-S frame and its high-end cousin is the type of carbon used to make them. While the Dogma KS-8 boasts the top-end of the top-tier Toray T1100 1K Dream Carbon and the Gan S is made of T700 carbon, the Gan GR-S consists of a slightly more compliant T900 carbon, which gains weight and sacrifices a tiny bit of stiffness but drops the overall cost significantly. While this carbon is slightly less rigid than the T1100 1K, it still remains a high-strength, race-worthy layup designed to handle hard miles over varied terrain. It meets the lightness and stiffness requirements our cycling heroes demand (think Steffen Wesemann, Alejandro Valverde, and Erik Zabel) and rode to grand tour and monument wins.

Those tech advancements have come to include aerodynamic considerations. The Gan GR-S isn't called out as specifically aerodynamic, but it inherits Pinarello's signature oval-front and flattened-back tube shaping throughout the frame and fork, creating an aerodynamic profile that slices cleanly through the wind without any extra materials bogging down the scale. An integrated seat clamp and aero seat post add to the wind-cutting advantage and offer clean, uninterrupted frame lines.

The Pinarello Gan GR-S Disc Ultegra Complete Road Bike features carefully engineered internal cable routing, compatible with both mechanical and electronic shifting systems for an added dose of aerodynamics and crisp, clean lines for any setup. It's finished with a threaded Italian bottom bracket that does away with PressFit's creak and longevity issues, a trend that we're happy to see resurfacing across the industry. Clearance for tires up to 38mm wide let you start charting new adventures and rethinking new ride possibilities.
