Why We Like The Firebird Pro X01 Eagle X2 Mountain Bike

When getting to the top of the podium and sending trail faster than anyone else is our number one priority we ride the Pivot Firebird Pro X01 Eagle X2 Mountain Bike. Pivot's DW-link controlled fire-breathing machine is newly designed to be fast where it counts and fun during party laps. Made with hollow-molded carbon this bike sheds grams and gains speed everyone on the course. 165mm of plush rear end suspension can be easily tuned thanks to the Fox Float X2. With enduro and downhill season right around the corner, we can't wait to get our hands on the newly redesigned Pivot Firebird.

Geometry on the new Pivot Firebird is updated to be slacker, longer, and downright meaner. Meaner to the roots, logs, and rocks we'll be hucking the bike over at least. In the low setting, the Firebird achieves a super slack HTA of 64-degrees and with a nice and long wheelbase of 1267mm. This allows the bike to be incredibly stable at high speeds all while we enjoy the extra slack rollover angle. Though the bike isn't built for the uphills, we find that pedaling on the Firebird isn't as much of a chore with a 77-degree seat-tube angle on a size large. The Firebird is built to go fast and be fast when we're pushing it. Fun on this machine follows a 'fun is fast' mantra and we can't wait to sign up for a few enduro races aboard the bike.

Part spec with the Pro X01 build is procured expertly for a machine that'll last a long time and ride incredibly smooth. The full X01 kit is designed for high-speed enduro riding. With lightweight CNC'd alloy parts mixed with strong carbon cranks we're getting premium-quality without sacrificing weight. SRAM also takes care of the brakes on the Pivot Firebird, with 4-piston hydraulic stoppers offering plenty of stopping power for when things get rowdy. Maxxis rubber is adorned on the Pivot Firebrid with the front and rear-specific Maxxis DH line taking care of rolling duties. These tires aren't light, but they do offer premium grip and incredible puncture resistance while out on trail.

Pivot spec's the Firebird with a host of parts built for hard-charging around the trail. The low-rise bars are sent out in an 800mm width which allows for expert handling and control while we fly down the mountain. The Pivot Phoenix components do work getting the bike down the hill as well with grips, bar, and stem being offered in a robust package. The bike comes with a dropper to get the saddle out of the way on rough and rowdy descents. We can't wait to get our ride deep into the alpine or screaming through desert mesa descents. The Pivot Firebird was made for chasing the clock before and every weeknight and weekend.
