Until now, it’s been regarded as truth that road bikes must be specialists to achieve true competence in any particular arena. Consider the O2 Disc a brazen refutation of that belief. In years past, its feathery lightness would have relegated it to being merely a climber’s tool, but Factor obsessed over every millimeter of the O2 Disc's surface to allow it to slip effortlessly through headwinds and crosswinds. And it didn't stop there. Factor, what with its collective experience within the professional ranks, is acutely aware that while suffering is a byproduct of speed, there is speed to be derived from comfort, as well.

To that end, great pains have been taken to offer reprieve from road chatter, as evidenced by the slim fork blades and flattened seatstays. Clearance for 28mm tires, even on today's wide rims, further enhances the sensation of smoothness. And the attendant aspects of power transfer have not been ignored, far from it. One look at the bottom bracket area or the massive downtube will quickly assuage any fears of unnecessary flex. The joining of these features is where the true magic of the O2 Disc resides. It's the reason that AG2R fielded the rim brake-equipped version of the O2 for the Grand Tours and cobble-strewn classics alike.
